It has given me great comfort and pleasure to read other people’s memories of my dad over the years, as well as sharing some of my own, on this website. Although the context of individual memories changes, a number of factors shine through as consistent throughout Mike’s life – the importance of family, his commitment to science, his passion for music, a winning combination of intellect and practicality, his ability to combine work and pleasure and his general love of life.
