I am truly sad that Mike has left us. He still had so much to say and do, and was always youthful in his outlook, engaged with the world and anti-Brexit to the core. I got to know him and Rosemary in the 2000's and enjoyed a few holidays with them as well as many sociable occasions. Mike was very hospitable and loved to cook something new. He also was a great entertainer and was conversationalist. I really enjoyed our discussions about life and the political scene, and tours of his garden, admiring new plants, where I could sometimes surprise him by knowing their names! He was very eminent but never showed off and as everyone else has said, treated everyone as an equal. A big gap now exists on my horizon. Marie
